Frequently Asked Questions

If I am a member of Aria Health and Wellness, do I still need health insurance?

You can keep your major medical insurance for yourself. The AHW membership is for General Gynecological Services only. You should keep major medical insurance for yourself that covers the costs of Emergency care or Hospital care should you need those services. While we will not be filing on your insurance for office services, your insurance can still be used for lab work, medications, medical imaging, and specialists’ consults. If you can sign-up for a plan with fewer office services and/or higher deductible, the savings on your monthly premiums could pay for your membership!

What do I do if I have a medical emergency?

Call 911 to access your local Emergency Medical Service or go to the nearest Hospital Emergency Department for evaluation and treatment.

Can the fees that I pay Aria Health and Wellness for my gynecological medical care be applied toward the deductible for their insurance?

We don't know the answer. We encourage you to discuss this matter with a representative from your insurance company.

If I’m a member, will I have to pay additional fees for office visits?

No. The cost of clinic visits (up to 24 visits per year) is included in the membership. You may encounter additional charges for things such as prescription medications, immunizations and certain laboratory tests and procedures but you will be informed of any additional charges before the service is provided. You retain the right to decline any services that would result in additional charges.

What if I need to have a mammogram, bone density test or ultrasound?

These are not performed in the office. We are aware of the expense involved in obtaining such tests so we will only request these studies when they are needed to direct the treatment of your medical condition. When these types of studies are indicated, we will help you get the lowest price for any test you may need.

What happens if I need to be in the hospital?

At Aria Health and Wellness, we provide only outpatient limited acute care and well care services.

Do I have to join for an entire year?

Membership is an annual commitment, but can be cancelled by either party with 30 days’ notice. If you pay in full at the time of enrollment, one month is free!

Do I have to be a member in order to receive services at Aria Health and Wellness?

No. Although membership in the AHW program offers the best value, you can be seen on a one-time basis. Please see the Membership & Fees tab for single-visit pricing.

If I receive Medicaid or Medicare benefits, can I submit charges from Aria Health and Wellness to Medicaid or Medicare for reimbursement?

No. For claims to be covered by Medicaid or Medicare they must be submitted directly to the plan by a participating provider. The providers at Aria Health and Wellness do not participate in any Medicaid health plans and they have opted-out of participation in Medicare. The beneficiary MAY NOT submit any charges directly to Medicaid or Medicare for services provided by this practice. A one-time waiver will be signed by you and a representative from AHW declaring that neither of us will submit a bill to Medicare for services provided at Aria Health and Wellness.

If I haven’t met my insurance deductible, will I have to pay full price for labs and imaging?

If you choose to use your insurance to pay for labs, yes you will. If you decide that you would like to pay for them out of pocket the prices are generally discounted.

What is your cancellation policy?

It is very important that you keep your appointment. Please call if you need to cancel or reschedule, so that someone else can take your slot. There is a $45 fee for cancelling or rescheduling without at least 24 hours advance notice. Thanks in advance for understanding this, and for helping us to run an efficient and effective practice!
